Audi Car

Audi has revealed its new A8 luxury saloon, due to go on sale in March next year. Although the new car is not a massive departure from the current model the exterior has been styled to fall in a line with the new Audi face taken from the current A4 saloon. The front and rear lights use LEDs that weigh less than traditional lighting systems.
It's bigger than its predecessor, measuring 5,137mm long, 1,949mm wide and 1,460mm tall and it's longer and wider than a Mercedes S-class or a BMW 7-Series. It runs on new alloy wheels which has helped to cut around 6.5kg from the A8's kerbweight. In total the new all-aluminium A8 is 22kg lighter than the current model. Two engines are available: a 4.2-litre V8 petrol delivering 372hp/328lb-ft and a 4.2-litre diesel with 350hp/590lb-ft. An 'economy 3.0-litre V6 diesel delivering 250bhp and emitting just 159g/km of CO2 is expected later on in the year. All A8s will come with an eight-speed auto and four-wheel-drive. It will come in both short- and long wheelbase models but this is the shorter version. The long wheelbase will be revealed next year.
It is suitably quick: the petrol version will accelerate from 0-62mph in 5.7sec while the diesel is fractionally faster, sprinting from 0-62mph in 5.5sec. Top speed is limited to 155mph. Audi also introduces a new safety system called pre-sense that activates the hazard lights, closes the windows and sunroof and pre-tensions the seat belts if the brakes are fully applied. Three other versions of pre-sense are available including one that decelerates the car and applies the brakes if it thinks an accident is imminent. Another applies the brakes sooner and harder and third system moves the front seats forward to help protect the passengers in a rear-end collision. Inside it's all-new and the MMI infotainment system has been moved from the centre console to the fascia. There's also a touchpad panel, which allows you to write letters or numbers on the screen to enter phone numbers or navigation destinations

Toyota Corolla 2009

2009 Toyota Corolla
When Toyota released New Vios a while ago, I have the feeling that the car is ugly than the Old Vios. I don’t know what the heck their designer thinking is. Now, Toyota released their New 2009 Corolla. Well known in Asia as Toyota Altis and in Europe & Australia as Toyota Auris.

For the American version of the new 2009 Corolla, Toyota has brought in the usual add-ons like DVD navigation with satellite traffic reports, Bluetooth® phone connections, audio input jack, and leather-wrapped steering wheels with audio controls.
The Standard, LE and XLE models have a new 1.8-liter engine with 16 valves, dual cams, and dual VVT-i (Variable Valve Timing with intelligence for both intake and exhaust); it produces 132 hp at 6,000 rpm and 128 lb-ft of torque at 4,400 rpm, similar to the prior model, so we’d expect the change in design is to reduce assembly costs. Gas mileage, according to tough 2008 standards, is expected to be 27/35 mpg. While Corolla maintains the same headroom, legroom and shoulder room as the previous model, it feels larger, thanks to a design that enhances comfort and improves utility, usability and storage. Easy-to-reach storage spaces include center console side pockets, a storage box above the usual glove box, front and rear door pockets that can safely hold 20-ounce bottles, a console box with a large-capacity main tray and a smaller accessory tray, an overhead console useful for storage of sunglasses or garage-door openers, and a rear-seat center armrest with an integral drink holder. Retractable handgrips are above each door opening.
The wide, low profile was developed by Toyota Design in collaboration with styling studios in Turin, Italy. Its foundation was set by the search for a lower, sportier shape than that of the previous Corolla. That search drove the decision to move the bottom of the A-pillar forward and the bottom of the C-pillar aft to increase the angle of the window glass and to improve the Corolla’s aerodynamic performance.
Safety features on the all-new Corolla include standard driver and front passenger airbags, front seat-mounted side airbags and two-row side curtain airbags. Active front-seat headrests are standard equipment. When the vehicle is struck from the rear, a cable-actuated mechanism in the active headrest moves the headrest upward and forward to limit the movement of the seat occupant’s head. Anti-lock braking (ABS) is standard; vehicle stability control (VSC) with traction control (TRAC) and an off switch are optional.

Summing up, the 2009 Corolla Altis is perfect for those who find the Camry too big. You cannot go wrong with the Corolla, the car that built Toyota’s reputation for reliability, high standard of quality and high resale value. The Corolla is the most popular car in history with over 40 million sold worldwide. It may not be as exciting or as sporty as some of its competitors in the compact sedan market, but it will provide you many years of comfortable, trouble-free driving.

Honda City 2009

The 2009 Honda City is one of the most talked about cars in Asia right now. With high global oil prices, the appeal of small cars is obvious

The Honda City looks set to capture a large chunk of the small sedan market in this part of the world, and with just a couple of weeks left before the launch, there is still some mystery about the details of the car.
Let's have a look at what is known, or can be assumed about the new car, and try to fill in the blanks with some educated guesses. Hopefully we'll get close to reality

All of the information below is based on leaked information and none of it can be assumed to be 100% accurate.

The 2009 Honda City will be in Thai showrooms on 10th September. Thailand will be the first country in the world to get Hondas small sedan, with Thailand being a production and export hub for Honda in the region.
Naturally, Honda Thailand will accept advance bookings on the car, but if you go and ask they will not be able to show you a picture of the car, the will only be able to give you some specification details. The reason for the secrecy is obviously to do with the fact that the car hasn't been introduced anywhere else in the world yet, but I wouldn't be comfortable booking a car when so little is clear about it.
Engine and Transmission - Straight from the Jazz
Ah, yes, this much is for sure. The 2009 Honda City will share the same power unit and transmission as the recently introduced 2nd generation Jazz. And, as with the Jazz, the City will only have the one engine. The previous generation was available with a 1.5 i-DSI or a 1.5 VTEC, producing 88hp and 110hp respectively. The iDSI models were more economical on fuel, and i-DSI models were also cheaper.
The new model will simplify things with just one engine on offer, the 1.5 litre i-VTEC. The 1497cc SOHC (single-over-head-cam), 4 cylinder, 16 valve engine uses Honda's i-VTEC technology to improve efficiency and power. The unit can now deliver 120 hp at 6600 rpm. The engine is E20 capable.

Honda Civic 2009

Last week, Honda officially revealed photos of the 2009 Honda Civic range (which is now on the company website, too), which received a mild facelift as part of its mid-cycle enhancement. As was hinted in the spy shots that came out a short time ago, the grille has been reshaped to fit in with the rest of Honda’s vehicle range, the front bumper now incorporates a tri-opening look, and out back, the taillamp lenses are slightly more detailed than before. A chrome strip now spans the area between them on the trunklid as well.

The Civic Hybrid soldiers on with its uniquely-styled wheels and gets standard stability control for 2009. As you can see in the gallery below, leather seating is also now available, along with Bluetooth connectivity and a USB interface for portable media players. The 1.3L four with IMA is unchanged and is rated at the same 40 mpg city/45 mpg highway as last year’s car. Overall, yes, the car’s changed, but only very slightly. Meanwhile, everyone waits with bated breath for the official unveiling of the big H’s hybrid-only Prius fighter.[Source: Honda]

Bugatti

Maclaren F1 GT

The McLaren F1 car
The first car produced by the newly formed McLaren Cars was the McLaren F1, a three seat coupe where the driver was placed in the middle of the car. Production commenced in 1992 and the car was designed by Gordon Murray, the same man who designed several competitive formula one racing cars for McLaren. The McLaren F1 was a so called supercar and the price was £640,000 (roughly US$ 1,150,000). The car came with BMW designed and produced 6064 cc V12 engine capable of producing 627 bhp (461 kW).
A McLaren F1 used to hold the record for fastest production car, but was beaten by the Bugatti Veyron 16.4. It should however be noted that the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 engine is assisted by four turbochargers, while the McLaren F1 can reach a top speed of 241.35 mph (391 km/h) with a normally aspirated engine. It can also go from 0 to 60 mph in 3.2 seconds.
The Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren (codename P7)
In 1999, it was decided that McLaren would design and manufacture the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren together with DaimlerChrysler. DaimlerChrysler was supplying the engines for the Team McLaren through its Mercedes-Benz division, and was also the majority shareholder of the McLaren group. The Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren was given a 5.5 Liter Supercharged V8 engine capable of producing 626 bhp. The car can go from 0 to 60 mph in 3.8 seconds. The Mercedes-Benz McLaren SLR 722 Edition was announced in 2006; a car fitted with an engine capable of delivering 650 bhp and a top speed of 337 km/h (which is 5 more than what the standard SLR could do). The “722 Edition” was also given a new type of suspension, a stiffer damper configuration, 19-inch light-alloy wheels, and a body that was 0.4 inches lower. The Mercedes-Benz McLaren SLR Convertible was announced in 2007 and will be fitted with the same supercharged 5.5L V8 as the coupé.
Unrealised McLaren projects (codenames P8, P9 and P10)
The collaboration between McLaren and Mercedes-Benz resulted in three more car proposals: the P8 car, the P9 car and the P10 car. The development of all three cars was put to a halt in 2005. No official reason was given, but rumour suggests that Mercedes found the projects to expensive to be a good idea financially. Some believe that McLaren is currently working on a secret P11 car, but this has not been confirmed.
The P9 car was to be a small mid-engined supercar, and the P8 – also referred to as the SLS – was to be a less expensive version of the P9. Both the P8 and the P9 would come with normally aspirated V-8 engines, and the P10 car would have been a SLR replacement. The idea was to make McLaren cars that would compete with cars such as the Bentley Continental GT, the AstonMartin DB9 and the Ferrari F430

Mitsubishi Lancer

Mitsubishi has made up for the crimes it perpetrated on enthusiasts with the last two generations of the Lancer Ralliart. In atonement for its sins, it's fitted the new Ralliart with a detuned version of the 4B11T pulled from the Evolution X, producing 235 hp and an unknown amount of torque. Additionally, Mitsubishi has decided to fit the Twin Clutch-SST transmission, pulled from the high-power and high-priced Evo X MR. The TC-SST clicks off the shifts through a set of steering wheel mounted paddles and sends power to a full-time all-wheel-drive system equipped with Mitsubishi's Active Center Differential (ACD).

The exterior is so reminiscent of the Ralliart's big Evolved brother that we're sure it'll be mistaken for the X and in addition to the absolutely boss Recaro buckets, the interior materials and amenities seem several notches above its base brethren.

On a personal note: As the guy that berated the Lancer ES in our recent Garage review, when the Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart goes on sale this summer, I'll be one of the first ones in line. It's obvious that the Ralliart is aimed squarely at Subaru's WRX and if they can keep the price around the Subie's (about $25k), the Ralliart stands as one of the performance bargains of the decade. And just think of the mods....

Cadillac

Luxury Cars: The all-new Cadillac CTS Sport Wagon takes driving to the next level while offering all the luxuries you've come to expect from Cadillac. As Cadillac's first-ever North American wagon, the 2010 CTS was designed to offer the cargo space of an SUV with the compactness of a sedan. The Cadillac CTS Sport Wagon is based on the popular CTS Sport Sedan and features a dramatic design that leaves yesterday's wagon in the dust. On the outside, the wagon is essentially the same size as the sedan, yet its carrying capacity is nearly doubled. Unlike the traditional wagon, the roof load management system blends with the roofline, creating a subtle fin effect at the trailing edges of the rear panels. Inside the CTS, the rear cargo area offers an integrated cargo management system that stows neatly under the floor when not in use. With powertrains that provide direct injection technology, the wagon puts off lower emissions and maintains fuel economy with an estimated 28 mpg on the highway. The CTS comes standard with a 270 horsepower 3.0L DI V-6 engine, and unlike many comparable engines, it operates efficiently on regular unleaded gas. A 3.6L DI V-6 engine with 304 horsepower is also available, with the added option of all-wheel drive. Both engines are backed by GM Hydra-Matic six-speed automatic transmissions.

The wagon's interior features streamlined instrumentation, LED lighting, an integrated center stack design available in either a satin metallic finish or genuine Sapele Pommele wood, and a center console that provides a sportier "cockpit" feel. Add the optional heated and ventilated seats, which incorporate "thin-seat" technology, for maximum comfort and enhanced leg room.If you're in the market for a luxury vehicle that is as functional as it is sleek, Cadillac's new take on the wagon is an ideal choice. So, it's time to say goodbye to the wood-paneled wagon of the past and say hello to the 2010 CTS Sport Wagon
